  1. Artur Schnabel links to an interview I recorded with Jeanne Bamberger who was among the group including Fleisher, Claude Frank and others that took classes with A. Schnabel at 86th Street and CPW. There are many quotes attributed to the pianist within my footage. My connection to Karl Ulrich dates back to the early 1970’s, approx. when I was present at a Master Class given by K.U. at the Mannes College of Music. He was mentoring Richard Goode who performed Schumann’s C Major Fantasy, and part of the event included a 4-hand piano recital featuring K.U. and Joan Rowland playing the Schubert Fantasie. I’m an Oberlin Conservatory and NYC HS of Performing Arts grad, the latter is where I met, Murray Perahia, classmate. From what I understand Perahia’s teacher Jeannette Haien, was a Schnabel disciple.
