William Harvey revisits Solo Violin Sonata – Issues new CD

William Harvey presents the Artur Schnabel Sonata for Solo Violin on Centaur CD.

William Harvey, violin, took great interest in Artur Schnabel as a composer.  In 2002, long before the violin solo sonata became available as printed score he contacted the Artur Schnabel heirs and secured the permission to study and perform the piece. He was invited to the studios of WFMT Radio in Chicago for an extensive interview and live performance of the sonata.

In 2017 William revisited the Solo Violin Sonata again in view of recording it for a CD. Jed Distler wrote a rave review of this recording for Classics Today. The pianist Frederic Chiu joined William Harvey for the Franz Schubert Fantasy for Violin and Piano in C Major, D. 934.
